In fact the specs are every bit as good and even the parts are interchangeable with the newer more expensive MG series models with option 3 the ultra low phase noise option! In the mg series it consists of 3 different low phase noise boards to accomplish this performance enhancement and on the 69xxx it requires 4 different parts!

The course loop,fine loop,sampler board and pulse board are all upgraded thus the price hike compared to 68xxx series which are still decent at certain offsets ....

Mainly your performance comparison between both models is 10 hz offset it's not far off, but 100 Hz to 1 MHz it ranges from 10 to 20 DBc improvement per offset. Very impressive!

The 69xx model is from the late 90s but nothing to laugh about in terms of performance! You really could only beat it if you had a twice as expensive Agilent unit with the ultra low phase noise option. So this is the best value for phase noise guaranteed!

This is a cw sig gen with step sweep freq and power,

  if you want analog fast sweeps add 300$,

If you need opt 2  attenuator add 500$,

If you need opt 11 .1 hz resolution add 300$ and a delay,

It currently has stable timebase ocxo 10 MHz opt 16

If you need. Scpi language opt for automation add 300$

If you want it doubled to 40 GHz add 3500$

If you don't need ultra low phase noise subtract 2000$.

If you need modulation add 1000$.

All additions will have a delay time in shipping as they need to be custom installed and recalibrated. We have all the software to realign and cal these properly. Data is coming soon as well!

The clocks drift over time and cause a lot of random unlock errors. We fix this issue with the software so it'll last another 10 years of locking!
